Grand Imperial Campaign Session 003: The Halls of Death

The crew was summoned to a duel. Two gentlemen had come to an impasse over a point of honor. The duel took place in an abandoned amphitheater, with a ragged crowd of a dozen spectators. The duelists fought, and one of them was slain. Aida dipped a jeweled dagger from his belt.

With their spoils from this duel and the previous, the party geared up for a return to the dungeon. They opened the secret passage, and found the form of a goblin standing, gripped by the bear trap. It began to shuffle toward the party, lunging forward with such force as to rip its own trapped foot off, and they put it down with ranged attacks. Annais approached to check the body, and it lunged forward and mauled her badly on the face. After crushing the corpse’s head, the party checked it over and found that it was the very goblin that Aida had killed.

The party returned to the Pink Unicorn. Gerald cleaned Aida’s wound, and then wrote to his order about corpses reanimating in the undercity. He worried, but kept to himself, that the later lines of the dragon queen’s curse might already be coming to pass.

The party bought two pots of holy water and spent two days guarding the dungeon door in shifts.

Annais returned the College of Physick for another free clinic, where her bite wounds were treated.

The party returned to the dungeon and explored until they connected their partial map to the entrance. In the chamber where they fought the skeletons, they found three more goblin zombies. Giving ground, they used spears to keep the zombies at bay and took them down. Returning to the room, they decided to look for a way around the goblin mud pit. They took a new exit from the room; the door hit Oskraks with a retracting spear trap.

Moving ahead, the party found a heavy, secured door. Chopping it down, they found a necromancer’s bedroom. Searching the room, they found a treasure trove. It included heavy jarneis armor, made of a magical ice that always stays cold, and a bone wand. Annais put on the armor.

Leaving the room, the party proceeded past another spear trap to some kind of lounge, layered with rugs and crammed with upholstered furniture. They fought skeletons in the doorway. A pair of goblins ambushed them from behind, but were quickly dispatched, as were the skeletons.
